South Waikato District Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader for a competent Customer Service Team, based in the main office in Tokoroa. This position is responsible for leading and supporting a team of Customer Service Officers and to inspire and motivate the team as we move towards a new strategic direction in our customer services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the Customer Service area, ensuring that a proficient, effective, and responsive service is provided and to a consistently high quality. This is a forward-facing role that will include plenty of interaction with the public, community groups, and visitors to our region.
You will also be responsible for assisting with front line customer service which includes receipting, cash handling, and using various databases and service request systems, and overseeing large print production requests and mail co-ordination.

Our ideal candidate will have at least two years of supervisory/management experience, proven experience in working cooperatively with the community, and a relevant management, customer service or Kiwihost qualification would be beneficial. You will need to have the ability to manage varying demands and deadlines, good planning and decision-making skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Your can-do attitude, vibrant personality, and motivation skills will be key to your success in this role.
